Cartography and GIS Spatial Analysis
Description
Our GIS projects range in scale from national level projects to site specific projects within Northwest BC, with cartographic products including report maps, wall posters, online maps, and interpretational signs. Our GIS toolbox incudes QGIS, R, and Canva. We work closely with our clients to ensure the maps and the GIS products we create meet our client’s needs.
GIS spatial analysis services offered include the employment of R scripts to analyze four key pressure indicators identified by Canada’s Wild Salmon Policy including road density, stream crossing density, riparian disturbance, and total land cover alternation.
We have recently expanded our technical services to include post-processing of high-accuracy field GPS data, producing sub-meter resolution results.
Project examples:
Examples of recent cartographic work to date include the map for the 2018 Canadian National Vegetation Classification, the Northwest BC Infrastructure Map series (2010, 2014, 2019), the Babine River Map Atlas, Lake Babine Nation Interpretive Centre Posters, and Guardian field maps. Our cartographic work with BC Parks includes the Atna River Park, the Burnie-Shea Park and Burnie River Protected Area , Morice Lake Park, Nadina Mountain Park, Nenikëkh/Nanika-Kidprice Park, and Old Man Lake Park Management Plans.
